Privacy policy
This policy covers the PlugSprout Site Check plugin and this website.
What we process
- The domain or URL you ask about, to run the check. For reachability and certificate checks, the host name is looked up through the DNS resolver of our hosting provider, and the check is then sent to that website. For DNS checks, the name is sent to the public DNS resolvers Cloudflare, Google, Quad9 and OpenDNS.
- The anonymized user ID and conversation ID that ChatGPT sends with each request, to apply rate limits and to group log lines.
What we log
For each tool call we write one log line with: the tool name, the outcome (success or an error code), how long the call took, and a keyed hash of the conversation ID, or of the user ID when no conversation ID is sent. The hash cannot be turned back into the ID.
What we do not log or store
- The domains, URLs, paths or query strings you check.
- The results of your checks.
- Your IP address.
- The raw conversation ID or user ID that ChatGPT sends.
- Any message content from your conversation. ChatGPT sends us only the tool input.
Rate-limit counters are kept in memory for at most 70 seconds, keyed by a keyed hash of the user ID (or of the conversation ID when no user ID is sent) and by a keyed hash of the checked host name. They are lost when the server restarts.
What the checks return
Results are technical facts about public systems: HTTP status codes, response times, redirect host names, DNS records and certificate details. DNS records and certificates are published by the domain owner and can contain names or email addresses that the owner chose to publish.
Sharing
We do not sell data, show ads, use cookies, or use analytics. We do not share data except as needed to run a check, as described above. Our hosting provider may keep standard network logs for security; we do not add request details to them.
